Ayahuasca Ceremony Overview

Our ayahuasca ceremonies at El Sol blend Sacred Ayahuasca Plant Medicine with various workshops and psychotherapy integration sessions. These retreats are designed to enhance personal growth and elevate consciousness through profound experiences. Guests reside onsite in what we term “residential cohabitations,” typically spanning three days and two nights.

Our ceremonies typically commence on Friday and conclude on Saturday, featuring up to three Ayahuasca sessions and two integration groups over the weekend. Each ceremonial space is overseen by dedicated facilitators and integration coaches who provide continuous support throughout the retreat. Guests benefit from ongoing weekly integration groups online following their weekend experience.

At El Sol, we offer two primary types of ceremonies: our traditional “El Sol” ceremonies and ceremonies hosted by visiting Shamans throughout the year.

An ayahuasca facilitator is an experienced professional who leads or assists in ayahuasca ceremonies. They undergo extensive training and have years of personal experience with ayahuasca, both in their own journeys and in guiding others through ceremony. Facilitators at El Sol create a safe and supportive environment for participants, offer guidance during ceremonies, and assist participants in integrating their experiences afterward.

Our facilitators are committed to their own personal growth and training. They participate in international ceremonies and conduct private retreats to deepen their understanding and skills. The El Sol team includes facilitators, therapists, and collaborators from around the globe. During our retreats, a minimum of 4 facilitators, each with extensive experience in profound ayahuasca work, guide and supervise the ceremonies.

Our Sacred Ayahuasca Plant Medicine

Ayahuasca, a plant medicine traditionally utilized by indigenous peoples of the Amazon rainforest, serves various healing, spiritual, religious, and cultural purposes. Our brew is crafted from two primary plants: the ayahuasca vine (Yellow Banisteriopsis caapi) and the chacruna plant leaves (Psychotria viridis). Prepared onsite using a traditional recipe, our medicine remains unadulterated and maintains a thick consistency. We strictly avoid substitutes or additives aimed at enhancing its effects, prioritizing the purity and quality of our Sacred Plant Medicine to support the healing processes we facilitate.

At our center, we do not charge for the ayahuasca medicine itself. Instead, our fees cover the cost of facilitation and supervision, accommodation, meals, and translation services for Shamans.
